Raise your glass and offer a toast to a Grace PLACE Adult Care Center – Richmond’s adult care center that celebrates the positive for adults and their caregivers.  Middleburg Trust Company will host “champagne & sugar: an evening of song & sweets” on November 3, 2007 at 8 pm.  a Grace PLACE will receive the proceeds from the cocktail gala and silent auction to fund the center’s unique, person-centered programs.  The event will be held at Middleburg Trust Company’s historic headquarters at 821 East Main Street in Richmond.

Champagne & Sugar features some of Richmond’s favorite performers providing sparkling entertainment throughout the evening. Cathy Motley-Fitch, Robyn O’Neill, and Scott Wichmann will dazzle the crowd with a list of musical theatre’s greatest hits.  The auction will feature artwork from well-known Virginia artists Herb Pulliam, Linda Gunn-Russell, Beverly Perdue, Aage Rendalen, and Jim Black.  Other tempting items include a romantic hot air balloon excursion, cooking lessons and other unique personal services, and a football signed by NFL Hall of Famer Jim Kelly.  Honorary Co-Chairs of the event, Mr. and Mrs. John Mason L. Antrim, will preside over the special evening.  Mr. Antrim is CEO and President of Middleburg Trust Company and serves on the Board of Directors of a Grace PLACE.

Since 1967, a Grace PLACE has enhanced the lives of adults with lifelong, age-related, or chronic health conditions by providing individually-focused daytime services to support community-based living.  With an increasingly aging population, a Grace PLACE offers the unique opportunity for individuals to remain living at home with family members, providing an alternative to nursing home care for many.
