A Grace Place Encourages Everyone to help the Central Virginia Food Bank
August 07, 2008
A Grace Place is very fortunate to have a long standing relationship as a Network Partner with the Central Virginia Food Bank, and we are able to make monthly withdrawals from the food bank to maintain our Nutrition and Wellness program. This partnership is vital to our ability to maintain our own feeding program, and the list of Network Partners in our area who also depend upon the CVFB is lengthy. It is vital that the community support and help maintain the inventory levels of the CVFB, so that all of these programs can continue to function - especially with food costs rising.
You may have seen reports this week that the CVFB is experiencing alarmingly low inventory levels in their warehouse, and have needed to tap their reserve funds to maintain inventory. Yet there is something you can do today! Visit the Central Virginia Food Bank website to learn how you can help. You can organize a food drive in your neighborhoods, businesses, clubs, or churches, and you can give online.
“...that none shall go hungry” is the motto of the CVFB. By supporting CVFB’s mission, you support each of their Network Partners, many of whom will provide the only nutritious meal that will be eaten by Richmond’s children and elderly today.
