A Grace Place Adult Care Center cares about the health and
well being of your loved one as much as you do.
We can do this together
We have been offering a day-based alternative to full-time nursing home or institutional care since 1967. A Grace Place operates with a person-centered philosophy. We will do whatever it takes to meet individual needs and interests. And as the client’s needs change or increase, we adjust or increase our support. We do not discharge the client.
Who we serve
We provide daytime services for adults with disabilities and age-related conditions, and respite and support for their caregivers. Our clients and their families reflect the diversity of our community. A Grace Place has an open admission policy, which means we welcome everyone, regardless of diagnosis or funding ability.
We offer two models of care, Adult Day and Connections. Each features specialized day programs for adults with a range of abilities and disabilities.
Programs and services
All aspects of our programming incorporate best practices¬—including the Eden Alternative Philosophy (based on the core belief that aging is a continued stage of growth and development), community inclusion, chronic disease prevention and management, and service learning. Our goal is to maximize the health and independence of the adult while providing respite for the family, who is often providing 24-hour care.
Our center and staff
We’re located in Henrico County, Virginia, on Staples Mill Road. Our bright and cheerful 21,000+ square foot facility is convenient to both I-64 and I-95. Each of our programs is located in an area of the center specifically designed for the participants. We have a low staff-to-client ratio, and staff retention of more than 90%, year over year. Our staff considers each other and those we serve as extended family. A Grace Place is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and is a member of Virginia Day Health Services Association.
Our mission
Improving life every day by igniting hope, instilling pride, and offering compassionate support for adults with disabilities and their caregivers. And in so doing, we will promote a more civil and humane society.
